St. Dunstan in the East Surprise Proposal Photos

When Benjamin got in touch with me to plan his surprise proposal to his girlfriend, he knew exactly what he wanted. It was one of those shoots where the guy had the perfect vision already, and I just had to be there to capture it.

We met at the church gardens of St. Dunstan in the East which is a stunning spot located just off the main street at Bank, London. You’d be surprised at how just a turn in the road can immediately lead you to this beautiful unique space set within the ruins of a Wren church.

Although Benjamin had prepared his girlfriend for a photoshoot, she had no idea what was coming next; and in all honesty, neither did I. Both of them were dressed in browns and earthy tones, blending perfectly with the greens of this garden.

All through the shoot, I would stall at a particular spot when I thought the framing was perfect for Benjamin to get down on one knee. “This is a beautiful spot” “The pictures here are stunning” “The framing is just perfect”, I went on and on but Benjamin wasn’t making any movement.

Finally, as we reached one of the last spots in the church garden, he asked his girlfriend to sit up on the wall and he would stand beside her. He then went on to remove an envelope from his bag. This was when I knew it was the moment. On opening the envelope, she was filled with so much happiness and emotion. Inside the envelope was an illustration that Benjamin had done himself, of the proposal happening at that very spot. And that's when he dropped down to one knee and asked her to be his forever.

Such an extremely beautiful moment.
