Taka + Kiki -A Cherry Blossom Proposal at Kew Gardens

Taka & Kiki’s cherry blossom proposal was one that reminded me of how much I love capturing these moments. 

When Taka first contacted me weeks before the proposal, he didn’t even have the ring yet; he just knew that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend on her birthday, and amongst the Cherry Blossoms of Kew gardens in London. 

When the day finally arrived, Taka and Kiki had been strolling around the gardens for the whole morning leading up to the time we had agreed to meet. He messaged me saying he found the perfect tree and he wanted to do it there. I immediately followed the location pin I was sent only to find a very nervous looking guy pacing back and forth a few meters from the most beautifully bloomed cherry blossom tree. But before we knew it, they were both in front of it and he was getting down on his knee.

Taka had a whole day planned out for Kiki’s birthday, which she knew of; except the part where he was going to ask her to be his lifelong partner. And this was probably why it caught her in so much surprise that she couldn’t help but burst out into tears. And of course, Taka joined in the waterworks and it was the sweetest moment ever, surrounded by the gorgeous pink petals all around.
It was such an incredible day, and these two deserve the happiest of lives together. Definitely one to remember!
